Happy Birthday, Sweetie

16 September 2005

Dear Family and Friends:

We are celebrating Olivia's birthday on a nice crisp, sunny, autumn day in the canyon of a mountain surrounded by music.  Oh, how Olivia enjoyed music.

Life is a gift, and everyday is a miracle.  On this day, five years ago, we received the best gift of our lives, we were blessed with our own little miracle, dear Olivia.

Olivia continues to be an integral part of our lives, even though she has moved onto a different level of existence than us. Olivia receiving her Angel wings was not the end of anything but the physical body.

She walks amongst us in spirit, love and remembrance. It's our love and remembrance of her, seeing her running and enjoying herself and helping others that will sustain us and know we all will be alright.  We need to remember we are only on earth temporarily, and our departure will be perfectly natural in the evolution of life.  Olivia did not stop existing. The purpose of life is to evolve, not simply to live.

Raise your glass on Friday and say, "Cheers!" We will be toasting Olivia and she will be toasting right along with us.

We are truly blessed!

Blessed Parents,

Gary and Linda (and, Moose, of course)

"We were able to give Olivia the moon and the stars; and, in return, Olivia gave us the sunshine and rainbows."

Happy Birthday, Sweetie!!! September 16, 2003

The elm lives on for half a hundred years
Or more, a rose but a single June;
No need to wish it were not so; tears
Of regret can never change the tune
Of Earth's mysterious song; she measures time
In beauty, not by the numbered hours she lasts,
Not by heights to which a tree can climb,
But by the sheltering shade that it casts;
The smallest flower that breathes but a day
Distills its fragrance into sweet perfume,
Garbs itself with grace in bright array-
Exquisite, brief intensity in bloom.
Whether the notes of life are short or long,
From end to end what matters is the song.
